Pyar ka Punchnama (2011) Review

Pyar ka Punchnama's amusing trio -- Liquid, Chaudhary, Rajjo and their bromance keeps this boat from sinking. Their camaraderie takes you back to Dil Chahta Hai. The three of them along with Neha (Nushrat Barucha of Love Sex or Dhoka fame) keep the film going. The other two girls, Charu and Rhea, struggle to act throughout and are, at the most, unimpressive.

Liquid (left, played by Divyendu Sharma) is natural, spontaneous and the most likeable of the lot. Everything about him - be it the ease with which he throws up a breathless volley of profanities at his dear friend Rajjo or his sudden behavioural change to impress his office crush - is amusing. Rajjo's (right) six-minute long monologue (in the second half) on how women always outsmart men is sure to have you in splits.

Overall, the film makes for a good one-time watch on your DVD!

Against a hilarious first half, the second half is relatively slow and stretched with songs thrown in. The background score, though, is sooper and blends smoothly with the film.
