Ek Main aur Ekk Tu (2012) - Light, zippy watch

I heard extreme reviews about the film. Audiences have either trashed it or loved it. I'm with the latter :) Ek Main aur Ekk Tu is everything a typical Bollywood romcom isn't. Even the duration doesn't give a reason to crib. It's tightly edited and wittily executed.

And as much as I am tempted to throw in spoilers, I'll try not to. Kareena showed me traces of Geet of Jab We Met but reinforced my belief that there's more to her. Imran is better than his earlier (poker-face) acts. He manages to emote and is in fact, quite likable.

The other character that shines, through and through, is Ratna Pathak (of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai fame) playing Imran's mother. All others from Ram Kapoor to Boman Irani to the man playing Kareena's father to her granny, fittingly justify their roles, with whatever little they had to do.

The cinematography is brilliant, locations breath-taking. EMAET is certainly a one-time watch. Barring the critics, I don't hear anyone talking well about the film. Now don't be so uptight. Give it a shot. @KJo, I'm sure you're all happy and gay ;) First Agneepath and now EMAET!
